Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

One of my absolute favorite quick and easy breakfasts.  

Here is how it stacks up if you’re following these eating plans:

  • THM – E
  • WW: 7 points
  • Beachbody containers: 2 yellow, 1 purple,  1/3 orange

Cook time:  10 minutes
Servings:  1

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Place rolled oats and water in a large (at least 4 cups) microwave safe bowl.
  2. Top with chopped apples
  3. Microwave on high for 3 minutes (watch out for over flowing)
  4. Stir in ground flax and cinnamon
  5. Allow to cool to temperature of your choosing and enjoy

Nutrition: Calories: 250, Total Fat: 5 g, Total Carbohydrate: 49 g, Fiber: 10 g, Protein: 6.5 g, Sodium: 0.6 mg

Tips and Tricks:

  • Not a fan of microwaving?  Cook on the stove top.  Place first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan, cook over medium high heat, bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium and cook until thickened (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat, stir in remaining ingredients, allow to cool and enjoy.
  • Other great things to stir in:  chopped nuts of your choosing, milk or yogurt for added protein, sweeteners of your choosing.
